2009 'Evening
of Wine and Roses' Raises $64,000 forCommunity Health Care
The Board of Directors and staff of the Community Health Trust
send warmest thanks to all who supported and/or attended our 26th
Annual Evening of Wine and Roses. The night of November 6,
2009, was a fun-filled festive fundraising evening.
Net revenues
from ticket sales, the silent auction, newly added live auction,
sponsorships and rose sales raised approximately $66,000. Proceeds
from this event allow us to continue the services of our Diabetes
Health Center, which accommodates a growing number
of children and youth (under age 20) referred to our program with
type 2 diabetes, hypertension and obesity. The number of
children and youth in this group has grown in three years from
5% to 25% of our diabetes clientele.
In addition, the Trust’s grant-making program will continue
to support healthy lifestyle choices for children and
adults in our community, as well as access
to and treatment of dental disease for low income
individuals and investment in scholarships and programs
that support education for individuals entering the
health care field.
Special thanks go to our event volunteers
for ticket sales, auction acquisition and display, hors d’oeuvre
preparations and decorating. We would also like to thank the participating
member-wineries of the Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association,
California Pajarosa and the Pajaro Valley rose and cut flower growers,
many participating restaurants and caterers as well as local volunteers
for donating their products and services for the event.
We look
forward to another year! In 2010, the event will be held on Friday,
November 5th. |
