Diabetes Health Fair
Friday, May 20, 2011, the Regional Diabetes Collaborative (RDC) and the Pajaro Valley Community Health Trust hosted the eighth annual Diabetes Health Fair. There was blood sugar screening, nutritional tips and education about the prevention and management of diabetes. Five percent of the people screened, had an abnormally high glucose level. Held at the downtown Watsonville City Plaza, the event was staffed by volunteers from The Diabetes Health Center, Watsonville High School Health Academy, and Si Se Puede. The fair also offered activities for children, an educational bean bag game, a jump house, bicycle maintenance and music, healthy snacks and prizes were raffled at the end of the event. We would like to thank our sponsors and volunteers for a successful event.
